Do preferred pronouns in schools and the workplace really matter? In upcoming months we’ll see an increase in pressure to use “preferred pronouns” in schools and the workplace. I argue that the case for using preferred pronouns is a form of existentialism, which denies any inherent meaning, purpose, or objective truth. If that’s the case, then there are no God-given rights, and the entire Constitution is undermined. To embrace and propagate such a philosophy is national suicide, intellectually bankrupt, and has no place in an academic institution which exists to foster intellectual growth.
